ABOUT US

We are a couple who live in Roanoke , Virginia with our brood of cats.  We are both vegans, and hold a strong belief in creating, selling, and promoting only items that contain no animal products such as leather, silk, suede, wool, shell, or pearls.

We first started making jewelry in 2004 when we decided to make bracelets as presents for Mother’s Day.  We enjoyed the creative process, and soon started experimenting with wire work and more expensive beads.  We fell in love with lampwork beads.  We loved the wide range of colors and variety that they offered.  Later in 2004 we had the opportunity to take a lampworking class at BeadFest and try our hand at making beads ourselves.  We enjoyed it so much that we left class and immediately bought a torch, kiln, glass, and tools.  Soon after, we created Soleil et Lune, French for “sun and moon”.

For the last couple years, we have been teaching classes locally and at venues such as BeadFest.  In 2006 we started our online store selling glass, torches, and tools.  In late 2006 we took the next step in our jewelry adventure and opened our own gallery and studio to sell finished jewelry, teach classes, and sell tools and supplies.  We are very excited to be able to share our love of jewelry with the people of the Roanoke Valley and surrounding areas through sharing techniques and through the two groups that we have started – Southwest Virginia Jewelry Artisans and a local chapter of the International Society of Glass Beadmakers.
